Apply to be an astro[sound]bites Co-Host!

Do you find yourself wanting to present the latest astronomy research in an accessible and lighthearted format? Do you wish you could conduct meaningful outreach and be part of an active Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative? Do you yearn to make bad puns for fun? Then apply to be an astro[sound]bites co-host today!

Though we’re sad that Will and Kiersten will be graduating in 2024 and leaving us, we are really excited to welcome two new members into the astro[sound]bites family.

If you want to join our team, please fill out the short application below by 11:59pm Eastern on January 26, 2024. The first question of the application asks for a 1-2 minute audio clip of you explaining any portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, how it’s useful in astronomy and why it’s exciting. Then, there are two short questions. All together, it will take no more than 30 minutes to complete. You must be a PhD or masters student in Astronomy or a related field during Fall 2024.

If you aren’t successful with your application this time, just know that we will probably be recruiting at least one person per year going forward.

Feel free to reach out with questions, comments, or puns at astrosoundbites@gmail.com
